My Important Takeaways

  • When working in Pinnacle, or any other site, for a big project, always save drafts at regular intervals. That way you can always have a backup if something gets deleted.
  • I have learned how to use Wordpress, which may be useful later in life.
  • I have learned that if you are passionate about what you love, others may be as well. So you should share your opinions on it.

The biggest challenges

One of the biggest challenges I faced was trying to edit my videos in Pinnacle. It took a while, then sometimes the program shut down and deleted everything I had worked on. Also, watermarking all the photos that I put in my videos in Photoshop with my Deviantart username was difficult.

Project Plan

I had originally planned to host a photo contest involving grades 8-11 and create a website to host these photos. However, I didn't have either the time or the resources to comply with these demands, so I just resolved to post 10 blogs on my website, and 8 YouTube videos.

Project Execution

I planned to spend my time working on my blog posts and videos, but really I spent more time working on editing the photos on my videos in Photoshop with my watermark and finding 10 examples of each type of photography. It took up most of my time. Then it took about 10 minutes for each video to upload to YouTube, and when we only had 8 minutes of class left, I didn't get it on YouTube. Time was a major problem, but it is inexorable, so there is no point in trying to fight it. I just wish I had had more.

For those who do this type of project in the future.

If I had any advice to those who might try this type of project in the future (which I don't, because I myself am not an expert), it would be to spend more time planning. It sounds cliche but it's true. I didn't have nearly as much time as I thought I had, so using your time sparingly and making the most of it would help, too.
